Litter-Robot 4: Blue with partial yellow flashing (Excess weight detected)
IMPORTANT
- Make sure your unit is plugged in.
- Make sure your unit is connected and online.
- Make sure your firmware is up-to-date. If the app does not give you the option to update, you have the latest version.
Preparation
The Litter-Robot is equipped with weight sensors located in the base of the unit that are used to further detect and weigh the cat within the globe while in the Home position.
If your unit has a blue light bar with partial yellow flashing or the unit will not cycle, this indicates that the scale has been triggered for more than 30 minutes.
You will also receive a notification on your phone if you use the Whisker App.
- Place the unit on a firm, level surface. Avoid soft, uneven, or unstable flooring for accurate weight measurements. The Litter-Robot 4 Carpet Tray can be used to improve the accuracy of SmartScale™ weight readings when Litter-Robot 4 sits on carpet or an uneven surface.
- If you have a litter mat, place it completely in front of the unit, not partially underneath.
- All sides of the robot should not touch any walls or other surfaces.
- Check that all four feet can move freely and clear any litter or debris that may be stuck in or around the feet.
- Check that none of the four feet are resting on top of a cord or in a grout line.
- Let's run a test cycle. Short press the Reset button, then short press the Cycle button to run a Clean cycle.
After your Litter-Robot cycles, it should return to the Home position, displaying a blue light bar.
Successful: If your unit returned home and displays a blue light bar, you've been successful.
Unsuccessful: If you are still seeing a blue light bar with partial yellow flashing after resetting at the Home position or cannot complete the cycle, please follow these troubleshooting steps.
Troubleshooting
The weight scale could be detecting additional weight added to the Litter-Robot. If you’ve recently moved or added litter, this could cause the unit to think a cat has entered and not exited.
Any time you affect the weight or placement of the unit (including emptying the waste drawer, adding or removing litter, or cleaning or moving the unit), press the Reset button to ensure the weight sensors will detect your cat and cycle properly. Be careful not to rest on the unit as you press the Reset button, or your weight will influence the reading.
- Check that your unit is not overfilled with litter. If the litter is filled above the line, please remove some litter until it is just below the raised MAX fill line before proceeding.
- Press the Reset button to zero the weight scale. If your unit is stuck during a cycle, the unit should continue and complete the cycle.
Successful: If your unit returned home and displays a blue light bar, you've been successful.
Unsuccessful: If you are still seeing a blue light bar with partial yellow flashing after resetting at the Home position or cannot complete the cycle, please follow these troubleshooting steps.
